SHREVEPORT, La. – Shreveport police officers spent part of their Friday afternoon Christmas shopping with local children.

The festive period is well underway – and retailers are bracing for the holiday rush.

​Super Saturday (21 December) is being widely predicted to be a frenzied affair, it being the final Saturday before Christmas, and a new report said that, combined with this Sunday, £3.04bn will be spent by UK consumers.

The countdown is on for Christmas with the big day now less than a week away. It means that stores are busy with last-minute shoppers who are trying to get everything done.
