The family was chosen for the honor after being named the Grand Champion Growers at the National Christmas Tree contest.

“We started at the end of August until actually today. I did the final ones and the first week of November, we start cutting the trees.”

There are several consequences of back-to-back hurricanes hitting Florida. One tree farm is feeling the impacts. For decades the Dade City farm has been growing Christmas trees. But this year might be a little less merry.

This year’s White House Christmas tree will come from western North Carolina, a region devastated weeks ago by Hurricane Helene.
